Tom Vickers and the Extraordinary Adventure of his Missing Sock // Volunteer EOI
Spare Parts Puppet Theatre is looking for enthusiastic and reliable people to assist us with the delivery of one of the company’s most ambitious creative projects in its 36-year history.
Tom Vickers and the Extraordinary Adventure of his Missing Sock is a choose-your-own adventure performance that will infiltrate Museums in a way that will ask the audience to consider authenticity and the many stories that an object can conjure.
This is a work that will engage all the senses: audience members will taste, touch, listen, and smell their way through this immersive work as they navigate public and private spaces within the Museum.
The creative team, led by Co-Creators Philip Mitchell and Zoe Atkinson, are pushing the boundaries of puppetry and performance in this innovative new work, which uses game design and object theatre as the foundations for story-telling.
This is an ambitious work of scale that will employ more than 14 performers, and will engage more than 70 volunteers across the world premiere season.
We are currently seeking Expressions of Interest from individuals and groups interested in volunteering to help us realise this ambitious work! Volunteers must have a current Working with Children Check.
This project has been supported by the WA Museum, the Australian Government’s Anzac Centenary Arts and Culture Fund and Anzac Centenary Local Grants Program, the State of Western Australia through the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, and the City of Fremantle.
