Spotlight on the talented cast for Miss Lily’s Fabulous Feather Boa.

Miss Lily’s Fabulous Feather Boa showcases a talented young cast with performers Cezera Critti-Schnaars (recently seen in Yirra Yaakin’s festival hit Hecate) and Ming Yang Lim (returning from an acclaimed season of Poorly Drawn Shark  in Melbourne), making their debut with the company. Gifted performer, and Assistant Director of Miss Lily,  Yvan Karlsson (Nobody Owns the Moon, Splat) makes a very welcome return to the company after several years of working internationally as a puppeteer, director, circus artist and movement coach.


Ming Yang Lim

Ming Yang Lim is a recent graduate from WAAPA’s Diploma of Screen Practice course and a graduate of Curtin University’s Theatre Arts program. His credits include godeatgod directed by Andrew Sutherland as part of the 2018 Summer Nights program at The Blue Room at Fringe Festival, Poorly Drawn Shark directed by Joe Lui, which premiered at Fringe Festival in 2019 at The Blue Room, and Jiangshi as part of the Winter Nights program at The Blue Room. Ming Yang has recently performed in Poorly Drawn Shark and starred in the short film Hold Up directed by Casandra Nguyen.

His other Interests include tricking and archery as well as Muay Thai and other martial arts. He is also interested in writing and plans to write short and feature films as well as his own play in the future.

 

 


Yvan Karlsson

Yvan Karlsson is a Director, Dancer, Puppeteer & Circus Artist working across Australia and the UK. He strives to create highly physical & visual productions that cross disciplines & barriers. His training comes from STEPS Youth Dance Company, Spare Parts Puppet Theatre’s First Hand Program, The Curious School of Puppetry in London & Force Majure’s INCITE program. Yvan has worked with companies including: Spare Parts Puppet Theatre (SPLAT! & Nobody Owns the Moon), Compagnie Royal De Luxe (THE GIANTS), Steamworks Arts (Rites: Dying to Dance), Circus MAXIMA (Fearless & CATCH!) & ERTH (Dinosaur Zoo). Yvan has directed Ophelia for Fringe World 2016, Tape Tape World for The Wanderlings in Singapore and many short works including: Monkey BoyCool BananasPlayerDeathWish & fired but not yet glazed. As Movement Director Yvan has worked on: Deadly Dialogues (Edinburgh Fringe 2017), Confirmation (Dublin & Edinburgh Fringe 2018/19) & EAST by Atticist which he was nominated for an Off West End Theatre Award for Best Choreography. Yvan was selected for the ASSITEJ Next Generation Programme in Tokyo, has completed a choreographic residency at Lizierés in France, was one of the Perth Festivals 2019 LAB artists and is performing in LEVIATHAN for Perth Festival 2020.


 

Cezera Critti-Schnaars

Based in Perth, Western Australia, Cezera is a proud Nyoongar and Greek woman whose passion for acting started when she was six years old and played the young girl in ‘Six Characters in Search of an Author’ and continued when she began acting classes at Ali Roberts Acting Studio. She completed the Aboriginal Performance Course at WAPPA in 2018 and has also been dancing since she was eight years old, having taken classes at Jody Marshall Dance Company in ballet, contemporary, lyrical, modern and jazz. Her passion for the stage and for being in front of the camera has expanded into writing her own pieces, participating in Yirri Yaakin’s Playwriting Workshops from 2017 and onwards. In 2020 she made her professional debut in Yirri Yaakin’s Hecate as part of Perth Festival.
