NEW BOARD CHAIR FOR SPARE PARTS PUPPET THEATRE
David Hansen has replaced Anna Dartnell as Chair of Spare Parts Puppet Theatre Board. Ms. Dartnell has been on the SPPT Board since 2013 and became Chair in 2015.
Spare Parts Puppet Theatre would like to acknowledge and thank Ms. Dartnell for the leadership and guidance that she has provided to the not-for-profit arts organisation over the years. Through this leadership Spare Parts Puppet Theatre was able to flourish and continue to provide world class puppetry, connecting audiences across generations. Ms. Dartnell will continue to serve as a board member to ensure a smooth transition and thorough handover is made with Mr. Hansen. We would also like to thank Mr. Sam Budiselik for his three years on the board who has now resigned due to other working commitments.
Mr. Hansen has been on the Board for the past three years, serving as Vice Chair for the past 12 months. Ms. Lisa Hamilton has been appointed the new Vice Chair of the Board. Mr. Hansen is a qualified chartered accountant and commercially focused finance professional with extensive international experience over 25 years. He has held senior executive positions, including CEO and CFO, and has board experience across a wide range of industries.
“I’ve had a relationship with Spare Parts Puppet Theatre as an audience member since the early 1980s and as a board member for the past three years, so it is with great respect and privilege that I take on this role to work with my fellow board members and the leadership team at Spare Parts as we propel towards our vision to be recognised as a global centre for excellence in puppetry, whilst we strive to transform people’s view of the world and each other through world class puppetry” Mr. Hansen said.
Spare Parts Puppet Theatre would like to welcome new Board members Ms. Kelly Carter and Dr. David Mofflin.
Ms Carter is a lawyer and executive with 13+ years’ experience in the resources sector, with a passion for issues including diversity and inclusion, education and wellbeing. Dr Mofflin has extensive experience in the successful growth and management of businesses, both within Australia and Internationally. He has spent over 30 years in the engineering sector, during which time he has been actively involved in overall business management and strategic planning.
Spare Parts Puppet Theatre is Australia’s flagship puppetry company and a driving force in the puppetry landscape in Australia since 1981. The company’s annual artistic program has a reach of more than 60,000 audience members and participants locally, nationally and internationally. The company will present the The Farmer’s Daughter, which was developed through a unique collaboration between the Merredin farming community, at its home theatre in Fremantle from June 30.
