Access and Inclusion in The Arts

Wednesday 2 November, 5pm

Spare Parts Puppet Theatre invites you and your colleagues to learn more about Access and Inclusion in the Arts and how the company is breaking down barriers between schools and the arts through its new Access and Inclusion Program which offers subsidised ticketing and bussing, and programs for hearing and vision impaired children. At this special information and networking event for educators Spare Parts Artistic Director will present the company’s exciting Education Program for 2017 and release information on how disadvantaged schools can apply to be part of the Schools Inclusion and Access program. The evening will also include a talk by guest speaker Dr Christina Gray and a puppet making demonstration that you can take back to your classroom.

Guest Speaker: Christina Gray

Dr Christina Gray has 24 years experience teaching drama.  Her high school teaching experience includes Kelmscott SHS, Carnarvon SHS and Applecross SHS, and tertiary teaching includes Murdoch and Edith Cowan University. Currently working as the Secondary Coordinator of Dance and Drama for the School of Education at ECU, Christina predominately works with pre-service drama students, preparing them for a rewarding career in teaching drama.
Christina has a particular interest in Australian drama and the influence of Asian theatres on contemporary drama and has recently completed her PhD at Murdoch University. She’s a passionate advocate for the value of drama education, peanut MnM’s and champagne – We’re really thrilled to have her join us on the night.
